Offering temporary relief to industrialists, the department of commercial taxes has extended the imposition of the E-Sancharan programme till November 20. The programme, which was earlier scheduled to be imposed from October 28, has invited the ire of traders because it makes it mandatory for them to submit online details of goods prior to transportation. This was being implemented at a time when internet penetration is low in most districts of the state.
