In his address the CEO delivered four messages that he wanted to share with the graduates.
Firstly he reminded them to acknowledge their privilege and most importantly the timing of the industry when they are graduating. Giving an example of Bill Gates he said that Bill would probably not have achieved so much in his career if he was born a year earlier.
He emphasised that the graduates were fortunate enough to step into an already booming industry which is revered worldwide. He said that due to the hard-work of many people India has been able to change its image of ‘snake-charmers’ to a respectable and valued country.
Secondly he put forth his views on being ‘obsessed to make a difference in society’ he said that initially it might be difficult but the thought of giving back to society must always stick with them. Stating the example of Ashoka and Warren Buffet he said that material gains don’t necessarily bring fulfilment in life.
The third point which he shared was about the conduct of a person and the need to respect other individuals in business. Mr. Singhel advised the students to not be arrogant and conduct themselves with the values instilled in them.
Singhel lastly talked about the gender disparity and asked young women in business to never step out of the race and maintain a healthy balance between work and family. He said that many corporations and great companies will always offer gender equality that will help more and more women attain higher positions in the workplace.
Singhel congratulated the graduates and in his concluding remarks asked the students to live in the moment, experience difficulties and good times with grace and enjoy life to the fullest.
