Mumbai (India), 27th May 2023: Krafton’s much-anticipated Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) game has returned to India. Android users can preload the game via the Google Play Store starting today.
BGMI will be available for download on the Play Store on May 29th, according to Krafton. Beginning May 29, iOS users will be able to download and play the game as well.
The game maker has also released a teaser that shows how much the game was missed by Indian fans after it was banned last year.
A Facebook post made by Krafton read, “Starting today, May 27th, Android users can now begin preloading their favourite game from the Google Play Store. Although the game can be played starting from May 29th, it is now ready for preloading.
If you are unable to pre-load immediately, relax. Over the weekend you’ll eventually get the option. As for iOS users, you can download and start playing the game on May 29th, 2023.”
It added, “Few users may have received an automatic update from midnight, this is a part of the same preload process, and you have nothing to worry about. If you are an Android user, you will be able to preload today and play on May 29th, if you are an iOS user, you can enjoy and play the game from May 29th.”
Anyone who conducts a simple search for the Battlegrounds Mobile India game on Google Play Store will be able to find it.
The most recent version of the mobile game, 2.5.0, is 800MB in size. Android users can get it via the app store, but because the servers aren’t yet up and running, you’ll have to wait until May 29 to start playing.
In July 2022, BGMI was prohibited in India due to security concerns. The government complained that it spoke with servers located in China, either directly or indirectly. An RTI response revealed, however, that the game was banned by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Meity) in response to requests from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
