Greater Noida (19 January 2025): The maiden edition of Urban Mobility Infrastructure Show (UMIS) 2025 and Bharat Construction Equipment Expo Bharat under the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 commenced on 19 January 2025 at the India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida. Organized by EEPC India and ICMA, the event was inaugurated by Sunil Bharthwal, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, alongside Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman of the India Expo Mart. These exhibitions aim to bring the entire mobility value chain under one roof, uniting multiple sectors and emphasizing India’s growing potential as a global manufacturing and innovation hub.
Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, supported by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, spans three venues: Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, and the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida. Key segments include specialized exhibitions such as the Auto Expo Motor Show, Auto Expo Components Show, Mobility Tech Pavilion, Urban Mobility and Infrastructure Show, Battery Show, Tyre Show, Construction Equipment Expo, Steel Pavilion, and Cycle Show.
The inauguration ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the diya by the chief guest, Sunil Bharthwal, and Dr. Rakesh Kumar. Amit Dutta, one of the key speakers, welcomed attendees, including media representatives and delegates, and acknowledged the support from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, which he stated was instrumental in organizing the event. He emphasized that the expo aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision of “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India), highlighting the innovations showcased in construction equipment and urban mobility infrastructure.
Dr. Rakesh Kumar extended his gratitude to Bharthwal and appreciated the efforts of all participants and exhibitors. He remarked on the immense potential of the event to catalyze advancements in mobility and infrastructure, noting its significance in strengthening India’s economic and industrial framework.
V. Vivekanand, another key speaker, expressed appreciation for the exhibitors, acknowledging their contributions to making the event memorable. He noted that the Bharat Construction Equipment Expo and Urban Mobility and Infrastructure Show represent a transformative step forward for India’s mobility sector. According to Vivekanand, the innovations and technologies displayed at the event will not only accelerate India’s growth but also have a global impact.
In his keynote address, Sunil Bharthwal highlighted the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 as a testament to India’s rapid industrial and infrastructural growth. He explained that consolidating diverse sectors under one umbrella was a strategic move to create a comprehensive mobility ecosystem, showcasing India’s advancements in manufacturing, engineering, and urbanization.
Bharthwal emphasized the importance of the “Make in India, Make for the World” initiative, stating that India is not just focusing on domestic growth but also on becoming a global leader in mobility and engineering sectors. He cited the substantial contributions of India’s auto components and engineering exports, which now account for 25% of global exports, and projected further growth in these sectors.
The chief guest also underlined the significance of integrating sectors such as battery and hydrogen fuel cells, power electronics, and urban infrastructure into the mobility value chain. He acknowledged the critical role of startups and young innovators in driving advancements and called for continuous innovation and experimentation to enhance global competitiveness.
The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 features cutting-edge displays of construction equipment, urban mobility solutions, and infrastructure technologies. Highlights include drones, automated construction machinery, urban transportation systems, and advanced materials for infrastructure development.
