New Delhi, March 3, 2025: The Bharat Shiksha Summit 2025, organized by Balaji Foundation at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, served as a crucial platform for educators, policymakers, and academic leaders to discuss the rapid evolution of education in India and the necessary steps to keep pace with technological advancements and societal shifts.

The Summit, which brought together a diverse group of over 2,000 participants including students, educators, and government representatives, focused on the theme of aligning India’s education system with dynamic global trends. A key highlight was the live survey conducted at the event, which culminated in the release of a whitepaper by Balaji Foundation. The whitepaper, informed by feedback from over 2,000 respondents, outlines key recommendations to enhance the National Education Policy (NEP) and address emerging educational needs.

In the session on “Education Without Borders,” Prof. (Dr.) Prabhat Ranjan, Vice Chancellor of DY Patil International University, shared the university’s innovative approaches aimed at redefining education in India. He emphasized the importance of bridging gaps between traditional and digital learning methodologies.

Educators at the summit underscored how access to online tutorials and educational content has transformed learning. They highlighted that the students, even in rural areas, now have unprecedented access to knowledge. However, they also stressed the evolving role of teachers, particularly in “flip classrooms,” where students engage in discussions after reviewing study materials on their own.

Prof. (Dr.) Dhananjay Joshi, Vice Chancellor of Delhi Teachers University, spoke on the critical importance of teacher-centric reforms within the NEP. He argued that focusing on the development of teachers is essential to creating a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) through a well-equipped and motivated teaching workforce.

The summit culminated with the release of Balaji Foundation’s whitepaper, which gathered insights and suggestions for improving the education system based on the survey conducted with students, educators, and policymakers. The whitepaper calls for targeted reforms to the NEP to address the evolving challenges and opportunities in Indian education.

The summit featured a variety of thought-provoking sessions, including “The Vision of National Education Policy”, “Education, Culture, and Contemporary Developments”, “Imagining Indian Education”, “Education Without Borders”, and “Legal Education and Training: Bridging Theory and Practice”.

These discussions brought together diverse perspectives on the future of education in India and the need for a holistic approach to integrating cultural, technological, and legal elements into the academic landscape.

Rajshri Rai, Chairperson of Balaji Foundation, opened the summit by emphasizing the vital role education plays in shaping a nation’s progress. She welcomed the participants and urged students to take an active interest in understanding the implications of education policies on their futures. She also stressed the Summit’s role in fostering collaboration and providing students with a clearer understanding of the NEP’s vision for their education.

The Bharat Shiksha Summit 2025 reinforced the importance of adapting India’s education system to the ever-changing global landscape and ensuring it remains inclusive, accessible, and forward-thinking.
