Bharat Tex 2025: Rahul Mehta Highlights Expo’s Comprehensive Focus on Sustainability and Textile Value Chain

New Delhi (30 August 2024): As preparations for Bharat Tex 2025, scheduled from February 14 to 17, 2025, advance, a key Steering Committee meeting held on August 28, 2024, provided critical updates and insights. During the meeting, Ten News spoke with influential figures involved with the expo.

Rahul Mehta, Chief Mentor of CMAI, highlighted Bharat Tex 2025 as a pivotal platform for showcasing the entire textile value chain. “This expo is unique in that it presents a comprehensive view of the textile industry from fibre to garment under one roof. It’s a rare opportunity for international buyers to witness the full spectrum of India’s textile capabilities,” Mehta noted.

He emphasized the focus on sustainability, stating, “Bharat Tex will spotlight India’s advancements in sustainable textiles. As the world increasingly demands eco-friendly products, India is positioning itself as a leader in sustainable manufacturing.”

The expo not only underscores India’s role beyond garments and fabrics but also highlights its extensive capabilities across the entire textile sector. Mehta also pointed out that many domestic and international visitors are often surprised by the wide range of products and raw materials available within India.

Last year’s edition made a significant impact on global trade, and Mehta is confident that this year’s event will attract a considerable number of buyers and customers, supporting the government’s ambitious goal of reaching $100 billion in textile exports, as outlined by Union Minister Shri Giriraj Singh.
