Greater Noida (12th February 2025): Bharat Tex 2025, a mega textile industry event, was kicked off today at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida. The prestigious event was inaugurated by Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh and is set to run from February 12 to 15 at this venue. A second phase of the event will take place at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from February 14 to 17, 2025. The exhibition brings together industry leaders, artisans, manufacturers, and buyers from across the globe, reinforcing India’s position as a global textile hub.
Speaking exclusively to Ten News, Bharat Tex Chairman Narendra Goenka expressed excitement about the overwhelming response from exhibitors and buyers. “Today is a significant day for Bharat Tex 2025. We have seen a 100% increase in overseas visitors compared to the first edition, which is a remarkable achievement. The enthusiasm among domestic visitors is also remarkable. Bharat Tex has now established itself as a global name in the textile industry,” he said.
He further highlighted the upcoming Textile Chain segment, which will commence on February 14 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. “We invite everyone to join us at Bharat Mandapam from February 14 to 17 for another dynamic phase of this grand event,” Goenka added.
Further, Narendra Goenka added, “Bharat Tex is primarily a B2B event, but at the same time, we want the citizens of India to witness the impact of the textile industry—what it is contributing to the nation and its people. We strongly believe that the general public should also have an opportunity to experience this sector firsthand. To facilitate this, we are considering opening the event to the public on the last day, and we will explore ways to accommodate them.”
He emphasized the significance of the textile industry in employment generation and foreign exchange earnings, highlighting the government’s strong support. “The textile sector plays a crucial role in India’s economy, and that is why the government and ministries are showing their solidarity towards it. The industry has received a tremendous boost from the government’s initiatives, and we are truly grateful for this support,” he stated.
Goenka also spoke about Khadi’s rising global recognition, saying, “Khadi has now become a global phenomenon, and we need to promote it further. Our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji, has always been a strong advocate for Khadi, and we are excited to see how it continues to gain worldwide recognition.”
With India’s rich textile legacy at its core, Bharat Tex 2025 aims to promote traditional craftsmanship, foster innovation, and create significant opportunities for artisans and businesses. The event is expected to strengthen India’s position as a global leader in textiles and handicrafts, opening new avenues for industry growth and collaboration.
