Bharati unfit to be law minister, has become a law in himself: Goel

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party today said it is very likely that the Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharati would lose his professional license to practice as an advocate for the ‘professional misconduct’. The party said that Bharati has become a law in himself and is not observing the basic norms of administration.

Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel said, “I had sent a complaint to the Bar Council of Delhi regarding indictment of Bharati by a special CBI court for tampering with evidence. We have come to know that an emergency meeting of the council has been convened on January 20 on the basis of our complaint. I t is very likely that the law minister would lose his license to practice.”

“In addition to the above mentioned case, Bharati has misbehaved with cops and provoked AAP workers to misbehave with certain foreign women. An unnecessary controversy which could have been avoided has been created by Bharati just to hog headlines,” said Shri Goel

Earlier the Delhi Law minister had tried to interfere in the functioning of judiciary by trying to convene meeting of district judges. The Law secretary had refused to carry out this illegal directive and Bharati reportedly misbehaved with the law secretary also.

“What is more appalling is that the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is defending Bharati and another minister Rakhi Bidlan who have tried to take law in their own hands. Instead of setting his own house in order, the chief minister is blaming all others. This has created a situation of anarchy in Delhi,” he added.

Shri Goel said, “The AAP government is destroying the institutions which are fundamental to have good governance. His job is to ensure that the functioning of these institutions is streamlined. Instead he is trying to create a parallel network. His ministers are behaving arrogantly and not ready to observe the basic norms and rules and regulations.”

“We reiterate our demand that Bharati should be removed from the post of minister immediately. He is not fit to be on that post. His presence would add to the anarchy already created in Delhi. The BJP will not relent till his professional license as an advocate is cancelled and he is removed from the post of minister,” said Shri Goel
