New Delhi: After the Delhi Cabinet on Saturday approved a thousand low floor electric buses for the national capital in a bid to fight air pollution. Delhi BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari and Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta slammed Kejriwal government for the alleged scam of Rs 6000 crore in the contract to buy Electric Buses.
Addressing the Media, Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta, said,
“The scam has happened in the tender for the purchase of 1000 Electric buses. According to the information, there were plans for making 6 bus depots for these buses for which 5 to 13 MW power is required. But according to the sources , not just East Vinod Nagar but other depot in Burari, Najafgarh and the fourth depot suppose to be built in Sarai Kala Khan but not in a single place work has started.”
He further said, “The Delhi government has neither the energy nor the space to handle these buses. And the buses which have been ordered to buy will cost 109 rupees for the 1 kilometer, the government will be paying 80 rupees for 1 km. subsidy in these buses has been changed 7 times, how much money will be repaid that’s a big question.”
“Both the companies that are making the bus are from China and the government does not have the place to make the buses parked. DTC has nothing to do with all these buses. Another network is being set up against DTC.” added Gupta.
