BJP MPs let down the people of Delhi with false promises : Arvinder Singh Lovely
NEW DELHI, January 23, 2024—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Arvinder Singh Lovely today addressed a massive meeting of Congress workers of Karawal Nagar and Babarpur in North East Delhi Parliamentary constituency, and exhorted them to fully gear up for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections by exposing the failure of the BJP MPs, who had totally forsaken Delhi after winning the people’s mandate the last time.
Apart from Shri Lovely, others present at the meeting were former Delhi Government Minister Dr. Narendra Nath, former MLAs Ch. Matin Ahmed, Hasan Ahmed, Kunwar Karan Singh, Veer Singh Dhingan, Bhishma Sharma, District presidents Ch. Zubair Ahmed and Adesh Bhardwaj, Corporation Councilor Haji Zarif, former councilor Ishwar Bagri, Ali Mehndi, Jai Karan Chaudhary, SP Singh, Kailash Jain, Laxman Rawat, spokesperson Anuj Attrey, Rajiv Sharma, Jitendra Baghel, Pinraya Jayant, Deepak Vashishtha, Pramod Jayant, Lokendra Chaudhary, Sushma Yadav, Sandeep Mishra, a large number of Congress workers and local residents..
Shri Lovely said that the BJP MPs were afraid to come before the people as they have nothing to show by way of achievements or works done for the welfare of the people.
Shri Lovely said that it was the time for fight, and Congress’s fight was not for power, but to fight for the rights of the people. He said that Shri Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra was not for personal power and glory, but for justice and equality for the people, who were being divided on communal and casteist lines.
Shri Lovely asked the Congress workers to make door-to-door visits to explain to the people about the futility of electing BJP MPs to the Lok Sabha as they neglected the people of Delhi when they needed the help and support of the MPs most, during the Covid-19 pandemic crisis, price rise, unemployment, flood, air and water pollution due to which people suffered debilitating respiratory illnesses. He said that with the BJP in power at the Centre, and at the Municipal Corporation of Delhi till a year ago, Delhi should have been elevated to a world class city, but unfortunately Delhi’s status only deteriorated to one of the most polluted and ill-kempt cities in the world, which was a far cry from the green and clean city left behind by the Congress after its 15 years of development-oriented governance.
Shri Lovely asked the Congress workers to consolidate booth-level committees to ensure that the party played to its strength to earn the faith and confidence of the people, who were now looking for change, after being cheated with hollow promises by other parties.
