BJP pacifies North Corporation mayor with Mundka ticket

Giving in to north Delhi mayor Azad Singh’s demand for a party ticket from the Mundka assembly seat, BJP on Thursday cancelled its earlier decision to again field the sitting MLA, Manoj Kumar Shokeen. While Singh, who quit the mayor’s post in a huff last week, has been given the Mundka ticket, Shokeen has been accommodated in Nangloi Jat, a Congress stronghold for which BJP had not finalized its candidate so far.
