Chemicals being used for developing flavours and tastes which are health hazards : By K.G. Behl

Galgotias Ad

It has been reported that certain chemicals are being used to develop certain flavours in Paan Masalas  and develop tastes in Masalas used for  cooking vegetables etc. It is normally advertised for masalas that the masala prepared by a particular company brings special tastes while cooking vegetables. So far only purity of spices was being talked about but now when all the spices being sold are pure how can one develop better taste than other. One wonders if the quality of masalas is the same how can different taste be developed unless something extra is added in it. It may be to preserve the spices or purposely added to make it different from others. It needs to be examined as to what chemicals are being used in the process which may be harmful to health. Similarly in Paan Masalas  they advertise that it brings different flavor  and produces energy which works like magic to make one different from others.  It is learnt that certain flavours are being produced from certain chemicals flavor of which resemble the original but are harmful to health. In certain cases it is advertised that every grain of the masala tastes of an article which is very costly. It shows that they are not using the actual item but are using imitation prepared by some chemical which brings the same flavor as original but is very harmful to the health. This aspect needs to be examined by the Govt. agencies so that  their ill effects could be detected well in time, unlike the case of  Maggi which is in the market from 1983 but Govt. has woken up now to tell how it is harming health.
Similarly Govt. should examine the injections  and other chemicals being used for ripening of vegetables and fruits which are harmful to health. All are aware about the production of chemical milk which is injurious to health and injections being given to animals to fetch more milk.  It is learnt that fragrances made from chemicals are also
being used in the production of  soaps creams powders etc. All these need to be checked and stopped if found harmful to health.
