Delhi, Sept 15th, 2022: President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday stressed on the importance of issues such as climate change and sustainable development while addressing the faculty and students of National Defence College.
Murmu said that we need to work on unseen threats as well such as climate change which does not seem to prevail right now but will take a huge toll on mankind in the near future.
She further said that we are in a dynamic world where even a small change can have a wide impact. “The pace and tide of the Covid pandemic is just an example of the threat which humanity faces today. It makes us realize the vulnerability of humankind”, she added.
Highlighting issues such as sustainable growth and climate change, the President said, “It is the need of the hour that countries across the board should come together and work out solutions for them”.
Murmu remarked that countries with long-standing relationships and peaceful policies need to work together now more than ever.
