COA-EPCH UNANIMOUSLY ELECTS PRINCE MALIK AS ITS NEW VICE-CHAIRMAN

New Delhi – March 29, 2014 – Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), in its 139th meeting of Committee of Administration held on held here yesterday, the members of COA-EPCH unanimously elected Mr. Prince Malik of M/s Osyrus Overseas, New Delhi as its new Vice Chairman.

Mr. Prince Malik is also Secretary of Expo Mart Exhibitor’s Association of India, India Exposition Mart Ltd, Greater Noida.

The New Vice-Chairman, Mr. Prince Malik said, “keeping in line with the growth trend of the last two financial years it is expected that the export growth will touch higher levels in the year ahead”.

Mr. Malik further added that in order to sustain this growth the international marketing initiatives, cluster development projects, design and product development, Skill development, new policy initiatives are needed to be pursued more vigorously.

In the year 2012-13 exports of handicrafts have registered a growth 38.50 % (In Rupee terms) over the same period last year. In 2013-14 (April-February) handicrafts exports was Rs. 18,368.89 crores (US $ 3038.41 Million) in comparison to Rs. 13,477.17 crores (US $ 2478 million) over the same period last year.
