New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has tendered an apology to Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia for having leveled ‘unfounded’ allegations related to the latter’s involvement in drug trade. Kejriwal still has to contend with a defamation suit filed by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, among other cases.
Kejriwal’s apology also drew flak from his party’s leaders and MLAs in Punjab, who said they were “stunned” by the move and “disappointed” as he had not kept them in the “loop”.
On Friday, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee Slammed Kejriwal, Terming it a cheap politics by Aam Aadmi Party, “This exposes cheap politics by AAP, they spread false propaganda. They build their entire election campaign (in Punjab) on a lie, good that he has accepted his lies”, said DPCC President Ajay Maken.
Addressing the Media, Maken said,”We saw yesterday how Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia was given a clean chit by Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal should stop supporting the Drug Mafia. This exposes cheap politics by AAP, they spread false propaganda. They build their entire election campaign in Punjab on a lie, good that he has accepted his lies”.
