COVID 19 VACCINATION PEREPAREDNESS AT GOVERNMENT INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES (GIMS), GREATER NOIDA:
Government Institute of Medical Sciences, is leading from fore front in covid care in Uttar Pradesh. The institute isproviding state of the art medical care to all covid patientsincluding Plasma therapy and high-end collaborative researchwith ICMR, NIMR, CSIR and WHO. Due to dedicated and concerted efforts in Covid management by the GIMS, Gautam Buddha Nagar has the minimum case fatality rate, not only in UP, but in the country, in spite of fifth largest no of cases in Uttar Pradesh.
Government Institute of Medical Sciences, Greater Noida will be one of the nodal center GB Nagar district, which will be participating in the Covid 19 vaccination drive for health care workers and other population. The institute has done preparation as per the SOP received from the state Govt and district administration. It has prepared 2 stand-alone booths, equipped with spacious waiting room for identification and documentation, separate room for administering vaccine and observation ward equipped with necessary equipments and manpower, who will deal with Adverse events following Immunization (AEFI). GIMS is a recognized Adverse drug reaction (ADR) center recognized by CDSCO, New Delhi. The preparations were reviewed today both by CMO team. The GIMS team comprising of Dr.Anurag Srivastava, Dr Deepti Chopra and Dr. HariomSolanki, who will be coordinating the whole vaccination programme. The dry run will be done on 05 Jan 2020, in which, vaccination of 50 healthcare workers will be done in 2 sessions, where a team of six members will carry out the vaccination exercise supervised by the nodal officer of GIMS and district heath department.
