Credihealth adds 50 more hospitals to its platform across #India
Gurgaon based health guidance startup Credihealth has added 50 hospitals including Max Healthcare, Fortis Hospitals, Global Hospitals, Apollo Hospitals, Manipal Hospitals and Narayana Health Care to its platform across India. Credihealth lets users find the appropriate doctor, book appointments, provide cost estimates and manage the admission and discharge processes.
In December 2015, the company relaunched its health app which had over 25,000 doctors across 450 hospitals for users in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Ranchi and Indore. Then, it said that about 50% of its patients were from Tier II & III cities and offered doctor/hospital comparison, treatment packages and insurance consulting. The company had plans to launch in other Indian cities then.
As of now, Credihealth operates in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Kolkata, Howrah, Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Indore and Ranchi and offers comparison and selection for heart, cancer, kidney and urinary system, brain, lung, liver and digestive system, bone and joints, blood, bone marrow transplant, pediatrics and skin specialists.
Funding: In September 2015, the company raised an undisclosed amount in funding from Twitter India’s Director of Engineering, Rajat Malhotra and as part of the deal Rajat joined the startup’s team to scale up the use of technology. The funds would be used for technological enhancements and expansion of the startup. Launched in early 2014, Credihealth claimed that it served 50,000 patients in 2014 with over 7,000 doctors and over 450 hospitals.
Developments in online healthcare:
– In January, Portea Medical acquired a majority stake in doctor aggregator platformPSTakeCare in an all cash deal. In November, it acquired MedybizPharma for an undisclosed amount in an all cash and stock deal and in September, it raised $37.5 millionin a Series B round of funding.
– In the same month Care24, an online company which provides services of nurses, physiotherapists and attendants at home, raised $4 million.
– In October, doctor discovery platform Practo expanded to Malaysia. In September, itacquired Insta Health Solutions and Qikwell and claimed to have processed 40 million appointments.
– In August, former iGate CEO Phaneesh Murthy launched his new health exchange startup, Zigy.com.
– In July, 1mg launched a doctor search and appointment booking app called Doctors by 1mg, while doctor directory and clinic management system Lybrate raised $10.2 million.
– Doctor search & appointment booking platform Qikwell had raised Rs 18 crore in Series A funding from SAIF Partners in November 2014.
