Mahajan, Consul General, Consulate General of India Houston, USA along with Shri Shantmanu, Development Commissioner [Handicrafts], Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India and EPCH Official and National awardees of Indian handicrafts. To promote Indian Handicrafts, EPCH is setting-up India Pavilion with live demonstration of Indian Traditional Crafts by 5 Master Craftspersons / Artisans in Dallas Total Home & Gift Markets (Temp Show) from 22 – 25 June, 2022 at floor no. 12, World Trade Centre, Dallas Market, TX, USA.


The office of Development Commissioner [Handicrafts] has deputed five Master Craftsmen to perform live demonstration of craft skill of Blue Pottery from Rajasthan, Artistic Weaving (Woolen Shawl) & Kutch Shawl Weaving from Gujarat, Madhubani Painting from Bihar, and Silver Filligree work from Hyderabad informed Shri Rakesh Kumar, Director General-EPCH.


India’s participation will add to the vibrancy and diversity of the fair and familiarize global manufacturers, retailers and brands with the robust entrepreneurship in Indian textiles and home furnishing consumer products industry and will open up opportunities for sourcing from India.


Shri R. K. Verma Executive Director further elaborated that USA is major market for Indian Handicraft products and hence Dallas Total Home & Gift Market is an important marketing medium for Indian companies world over. India’s exports of handicrafts to the USA during the year 2021-22 is Rs. 14117.64 Crores (US $ 1893.40 Million).  Focus on India at this fair will help in further boosting exports.

EPCH is a nodal agency for promoting exports of handicrafts from the Country to various destinations of the world and projecting India’s image abroad as a reliable supplier of high quality handicrafts goods & services. The Handicrafts exports during the year 2021-22 was Rs. 33253.00 Crores (US $ 4459.76 Million) registering a growth of 29.49% in rupee term & 28.90% in dollar terms over previous year. The exports of handicrafts to USA during the year 2021-22 is Rs. 14117.64 Crores (US $ 1893.40 Million) registering a growth of 43.25% in rupee term and 42.60% in dollar term over previous year informed by Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Director General – EPCH.
