Delhi government allows reopening of offices at 50% capacity

New Delhi, January 21: Amid decline in Covid cases in Delhi, Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on Friday issued an order allowing all private offices (outside containment zones) in NCT of Delhi to function at upto 50% attendance with immediate effect.

Moreover, private offices are advised to stagger the office timing, presence & quantum of staff; Further, they’re advised to follow work from home, as far as possible.

It is also clarified that Night Curfew from 10 PM to 5 AM every day and Weekend Curfew from 10 PM of Friday till 5 AM of subsequent Monday, on the movement of individuals in NCT of Delhi shall also remain in force till further order.

The rest of the restrictions implemented by the DDMA in the city will remain unchanged and will be in force till further orders.

Earlier on Friday, Arvind Kejriwal sent a recommendation to L-G Anil Baijal to lift weekend vurfew and to open markets, eliminating odd-even system as well to reopen offices with 50% capacity for which the governor denied, however, he allowed the working of private offices with 50% capacity.

The statement by the L-G office said that the decision regarding lifting of weekend curfew and opening of markets would be taken once the COVID-19 situation in Delhi improves further.

“Agreed to 50% attendance in private offices. But suggested that ‘status quo’ be maintained with regards to weekend curfew and opening of markets and decision be taken on the subject once the Covid situation improves further,” stated LG office, as per ANI.

Delhi on Thursday reported 12,306 fresh Covid-19 cases and 43 more fatalities due to the Covid-19, while the positivity rate dipped to 21.48 per cent, according to data shared by the city health department.

Moreover, the capital has witnessed a great decline in COVID cases, this week.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain earlier on Friday has also asserted that the danger of Covid-19 has subsided in the national capital and the situation is “quite under control”.
