Delhi heatwave warning issued after temperature rises over 45 degrees

New Delhi, 22nd May 2023: A heat wave warning was issued for Delhi and its surrounding areas after several regions experienced temperatures over 45 degrees.

Authorities confirmed that more than 4 Delhi stations reported the exact predictions and added that this was the first-day such predictions were recorded.

The Najafgarh region recorded the highest maximum temperature at 46.3 degrees Celsius. The heatwave warning was declared for the region after the temperature was more than 45 for the second consecutive day.

On Saturday, officials recorded the minimum temperature at 23.2 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature at 40.2 degrees.

Officials added that a fresh western disturbance could bring relief from the hot weather conditions from May 24, with possibilities for light rain and cloudy weather.
