Delhi Police tightens security amid Holi & Shab-e-Barat celebrations in the capital

March 18, New Delhi: Delhi Police has tightened the security across the state as the capital celebrates the auspicious festivals of Holi & Shab-e-Barat today.
Amid the festival celebrations, police personnels have been deployed in communally sensitive areas with mixed populations. Moreover, security arrangements like pickets are being placed & extra staff is being deployed.
The Delhi Traffic has also made arrangements to check incidents of drunken driving & over-speeding.
Checking of commuters and their vehicles by Traffic police personnel is in place in various areas of Delhi.
“We’ve made security arrangements amid Holi & Shab-e-Barat & deployed more personnel in communally sensitive areas with mixed populations,” said Rakesh Asthana, Delhi Police Commissioner.
‘Aman Committe’ meetings were held to spread the message of celebrating the festivals harmoniously.
“We’ve made all arrangements for Holi & Shab-e-Barat. We held ‘Aman Committee’ meetings to spread the message of celebrating the festivals harmoniously. We’ve put all security arrangements in place, like placing pickets, or extra staff deployment, Said DCP New Delhi Amrutha Guguloth while speaking to ANI.
Delhi police also asked people to adhere to the coronavirus-appropriate behaviour.
