Delhi Slum people gathers at Jantar Mantar, Demands cleanliness as top priority

New Delhi : Today, several people from labourer families gathered at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and raised their voices demanding clean society to live in.



These people were from Motia-Khan basti in Delhi, which is going through very unbearable circumstances regarding cleanliness. Motia Khan basti have more than 15,000 residents who are all either labourers, house maids or unemployed.

In a conversation with Ten News, one lady shared how bad are the situations there in terms of cleanliness. She said, “There are only 11 toilets for all of us. We have to wait in ques every morning to use public toilets.”

Speaking to Ten News, children from these families also shared their opinions.

Their main demand is to make the government to execute a decision which will make their lives better. According to them, they should be provided with government jobs, may that be a job of ‘Safai Wala’.

They were all confident to change their society if they are provided with some economical help as a reason to change their livings.
