District Administration gears up for panchayat elections for Gautam Budh Nagar villages

The State Election Commission last week issued schedule for panchayat elections for Gautam Budh Nagar villages which are not notified by the Noida Authority and Greater Noida Authority. The candidates can file nominations papers on May 17-18. They can also take the names back by May 22.

 The officials said that the election commission will allot the candidates’ election symbol in the evening of May 22. “The polling will be held on May 29 while the counting of votes will start in the morning of May 31,” said the notification of the state government.
The model code of conduct has come into effect in the district, and it would remain enforced in all the panchayats till the conclusion of the polls.

The panchayat elections would be held for the post of 153 village pradhans in the district.
