New Delhi (February 14, 2025): The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth’s Center for Indic Studies hosted an insightful lecture on Vedanta and environmental ethics, featuring Dr. Vandana Sharma as the keynote speaker.

Dr. Sharma, a renowned scholar in Indian philosophy and environmental ethics, is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Zakir Husain Delhi College. She has authored four books, presented at global conferences, and received prestigious awards for her contributions to ecological conservation. Her research explores the intersection of Vedantic wisdom and modern environmental challenges, offering a holistic perspective on sustainability.

During the session titled “Ancient Insights, Modern Solutions: Vedanta for a Greener Planet,” Dr. Sharma explained how Advaita Vedanta emphasizes the interconnectedness of all existence, providing a strong philosophical foundation for environmental conservation. She highlighted how ancient Indian teachings can guide modern policies toward sustainability.
