Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida in association with Brahma Kumaris organized a session on “Science and Spirituality”.

To commemorate  National Science Day, NSS Wing of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida in association with Brahma Kumaris organized a session on Science and Spirituality. The objective of this session was to create an awareness amongst students and staff members regarding importance of spiritual living and meditation with the application of scientific knowledge.

The program was coordinated by students Mr. Madhwesh Upadhyay, Ms. Gurleen Kaur and Mr. Dravid Nagi, from CSE First Year.

 

The event began with the floral welcome of Sister Priti, Sister Pallavi and Brother Sanjeev from Brahma Kumaris byProf. S. K. Bagga, Director, DGI, Greater Noida.

 

Bother Sanjeev started the session with the self-exploration. He said that it is a process of dialogue between “what you are” and “what you really want to be”. It is a process of self-evolution through self-investigation. Brother Sanjeev discussed the process of knowing oneself and through that understanding entire existence. He also discussed process of knowing innateness and moving towards self-organization and self-expression. He also described the need of proper and balanced health, meditation, purity of mind and body etc.

 

During her lecture Sister Priti highlighted the importance of meditation in one’s life. She elucidated that meditation is the journey inwards, a journey of self-discovery and in fact, re-discovery. Meditation is time taken for quiet reflection and silence, away from the hustle and bustle of daily living. Sister Priti enlightened the participants regarding spiritual awareness and said that spiritual awareness gives us the power to choose good and positive thoughts over those which are negative and wasteful.

 

Sister Pallavi described various process of meditation with simple exercises, sitting and lying comfortably. She said that spirituality is a process of reformation which aims to recover the original shape of a person. Spirituality does not mean any particular practice. It is an art of living.

 

The session came to an end with presentation of memento to the spiritual experts by Prof. S. K. Bagga.
