Greater Noida News (07/07/2026): After waiting for over 15 years for their dream homes, representatives of the Earth Towne Flat Buyers Welfare Association met senior officials of the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) on Tuesday, urging the authority to expedite the revival of the long-stalled housing project and implement the directions issued by the Supreme Court without further delay.
During the meeting with GNIDA Additional Chief Executive Officer (ACEO) Soumya Srivastava, the delegation highlighted the prolonged hardships faced by hundreds of homebuyers and appealed for the immediate execution of the Supreme Court’s judgment dated May 5, 2026, which they believe is crucial for the project’s revival.
The buyers stressed that any further delay in implementing the apex court’s directions would only prolong the uncertainty surrounding the project. They requested the authority to fast-track the resolution process so that construction activities can resume at the earliest and homebuyers can finally receive possession of their long-awaited flats.
A major issue discussed during the meeting was the substantial increase in GNIDA’s financial claim. The Association questioned how the authority’s dues had reportedly risen from around ₹148 crore, as submitted before the Resolution Professional (RP) in 2019, to nearly ₹309 crore. Seeking transparency, the buyers requested an explanation for the revised amount.
Responding to the concern, ACEO Soumya Srivastava informed the delegation that GNIDA’s Finance Department has already been directed to recalculate the outstanding dues. He assured the homebuyers that an updated assessment would be prepared and shared within the next two days.
The Association also submitted a detailed memorandum addressed to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GNIDA, requesting the authority to clear all pending project-related approvals at the earliest. The memorandum urged officials to remove administrative hurdles that have continued to obstruct the implementation of the Resolution Plan and delayed the project’s completion.
Apart from project-related concerns, the delegation also raised issues regarding delayed responses to emails, pending applications filed under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, and the First Appeal submitted by the buyers. Taking note of these grievances, the ACEO instructed the concerned departments to ensure timely responses and improve communication with stakeholders.
The meeting, which lasted for nearly an hour, ended on a positive note, with GNIDA assuring the delegation that the concerns of Earth Towne homebuyers would be addressed on priority.
Expressing cautious optimism after the discussions, members of the Earth Towne Flat Buyers Welfare Association said they are hopeful that the authority will act swiftly to implement the Supreme Court’s directions, remove administrative bottlenecks, and accelerate the completion of the long-delayed project—bringing much-needed relief to hundreds of families who have been waiting for their homes for more than a decade.
