Greater Noida (21 February 2025): ELECRAMA 2025, the flagship event for the electrical and power sector, is set to kick off tomorrow at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, bringing together industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers from across the globe. Organized by the Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA), ELECRAMA serves as a premier platform for showcasing cutting-edge technologies, fostering business collaborations, and driving the future of the electrical industry.
At the helm of this transformative event is Sunil Singhvi, President of IEEMA, whose visionary leadership has played a crucial role in shaping the electrical and power sector. With decades of experience in the industry, Singhvi has been a driving force behind key initiatives promoting innovation, sustainability, and market expansion. Speaking exclusively to Ten News Network, he shared valuable insights on the evolving landscape of the sector and the growing global significance of ELECRAMA 2025.
When asked about the unique selling proposition (USP) of ELECRAMA 2025, Singhvi emphasized that ELECRAMA is the world’s largest electrical exhibition and has gained immense importance as the global supply chain increasingly looks towards India for electrical and power solutions. The Indian power sector is witnessing unprecedented growth, with demand projected to rise at a rapid rate of 7% per annum, driven by economic expansion.
India has emerged as the largest supplier of electrical equipment globally, boasting an industry turnover of $70 billion, which is expected to double in the next five years. Singhvi highlighted India’s vast market potential, particularly in renewable energy, stating that the nation currently possesses 210 GW of renewable energy capacity and aims to reach 500 GW by 2030.
This growth presents an incredible opportunity for Indian suppliers to expand their businesses and explore international markets in areas such as nuclear energy, renewable energy, and transmission solutions. India is becoming the hub for electrical manufacturing and product development, Singhvi remarked, underscoring the country’s transformation into a global powerhouse in the sector.
ELECRAMA 2025 has garnered significant international attention, with participation from 75 countries and 450 global buyers hosted by IEEMA. The event is witnessing the presence of chief executives from five leading global companies, board members, and top industry leaders. In addition, numerous diplomats, ambassadors, and trade representatives from countries such as Germany and France are actively participating.
Singhvi noted that this level of global engagement at ELECRAMA highlights India’s growing stature in the electrical and power industry. The event provides an unparalleled opportunity for Indian manufacturers to collaborate, innovate, and expand their footprint on a global scale.
The Government of India has extended unwavering support for ELECRAMA 2025, demonstrating its commitment to the growth of the electrical and power industry. The event is being supported by key ministries, including the Ministry of Power, Ministry of Commerce, and Ministry of Renewable Energy. Senior government officials from multiple states, along with 200 buyers from distribution companies, are attending the event to explore the latest technological advancements.
Singhvi expressed gratitude for the government’s initiatives, highlighting that India is investing over ₹3 lakh crore in the power sector, with an estimated ₹6 lakh crore required over the next decade to meet the country’s ambitious targets.
The government’s support for renewable energy storage technologies is making India the largest market for the electrical sector, Singhvi stated. He also acknowledged the government’s role in fostering policies that drive innovation and infrastructure development in the power sector.
Chairman Vikram Gandotra highlighted major attractions, including a Green Energy Pavilion, seven country pavilions (with Germany and France as key participants), and showcases on modernization, digitalization, sustainability, and automation.
Technological Innovations & Sustainability
The event presents Digital Energy and New Energy Pavilions, featuring over 50 startups working on groundbreaking innovations. A strong focus is placed on quality, safety, and sustainability, with eco-friendly practices such as biodegradable lanyards and electric vehicle transport for guests.
Future of the Indian Electrical Industry
India’s electrical sector, valued at $70 billion with $12 billion in exports, is projected to grow to $130 billion by 2030, with exports exceeding $25 billion. By 2047, the industry aims to reach $1 trillion.
Government Initiatives & Industry Growth
Key government policies focus on expanding electricity usage in transportation (EVs), household applications, and renewable energy generation. The Make in India initiative is boosting domestic manufacturing, driving large-scale investments.
