New Delhi, Dec 14, 2022: The inaugural session of ASSOCHAM’s EduTech100 summit on “Digital Distinction: Technology Conformance to NEP” recognizing top 100 HEIs took place in The Lalit, New Delhi on 14th December, 2022. The summit was held with a focus on how the Indian education system can go global.

Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor of Telangana and the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, was the chief guest of the inaugural event. During her speech, she heaped praises on all the dignitaries that were present at the event for the exemplary work done by them in the field of education.

 

While speaking about the New Education Policy, she said: “As an academician, I feel that it is the need of the hour. Even when Covid-19 was prevalent, online education became a lifeline but there was also a lot of disparity. We have to implement, with full of commitment, the National Education Policy whatever may be the drawbacks and hurdles we face.”

“I laud our honorable Prime Minister because nutrition is now as important as education. Unless the child is healthy, the child cannot excel in academic activities..psychology of the children should also be taken care of. Enjoy and educate, let them love and learn,” she noted.

 

Dr. Madhu Chitkara, pro-chancellor of Chitkara University and co-chairperson of National Council on Education addressed the gathering at the summit and spoke on the achievements of the ASSOCHAM. “If you see the NEP 2020, there are some verticals which is added – one was the technical education in regional languages..the second contribution was how to get AI (Artificial Intelligence) to be a part of NEP 2020.”

Mr. Sahil Chalana, founder and CEO of CollegeDunia, spoke about the vision of “providing every student in India with the best college they deserve” which serves as a driving force behind CollegeDunia. “When we started, there were a lot of problems – the fee structures for a lot of colleges was not transparent, students never had any information about extracurriculars, and colleges were spending a lot on marketing..we invested heavily in getting fee structures, we are also the largest review platform in the country which helps more than 18 million students every month,” he said.

“We also launched a government exams preparation portal called prep.in..it’s free of cost and it helps students prepare for exams like UPSC, banking, and loads of state exams,” he added. He also expounded CollegeDunia’s study abroad services which are helping students find the best colleges in the UK, US, Germany, New Zealand, and Australia.

 

Mr. Hemant Sahal, Founder and CEO of CollPoll, said: “Higher education is going through a rapid transformation..the New Education Policy 2020 has brought in reforms which are long awaited but it also brings in new levels of complexity in terms of offering academic flexibility and transformability which is also making institutions transform themselves.” He also heaped praises on the institutions which have harnessed the power of technology greatly.

Mr. Yuvraj Malik, Director at National Book Trust of India, spoke about rapidly evolving education ecosystem in India. “Since the last few years, the world has been looking up to India, especially after the way we have handled Covid-19 management and we have introduced the world’s biggest education reform..we must understand the vision of the policy and the vision of the man behind the policy, our honorable Prime Minister,” he said.

Further summarizing the New Education Policy 2020 he noted – The NEP is Indian in its ethos, international in its outlook, very interactive in its approach, and very inclusive in its character.
