EPCH, India TV, CFI amongst others to announce support for cancer charity

New Delhi – 17th November’2020  (Tuesday) – “The EPCH has been committed in its endeavour to support artisans’ welfare initiatives through social initiatives by organising eye screening camps, providing COVID-19 safety kits etc. in various craft clusters in different parts of India. The Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) under its CSR initiative, has now announced support for “bcpbf – The Cancer Foundation for organizing GRIT FOR LIFE”, a unique fundraising endeavour in total support of economically underprivileged cancer afflicted Indians,” said Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Director General – EPCH.

“bcpbf -The Cancer Foundation is not for profit organization working for providing medical services for treatment of Breast Cancer to those who cannot afford the treatment and to increase knowledge among those unaware of the disease, by reaching out to them through awareness camps, public lectures, seminars, corporate health checks etc. Currently Organization is managed by President, Dr Sameer Kaul, General Secretary, Mridul Arora along with team of medical professionals,” Dr. Kumar added

Ravi K. Passi, Chairman – EPCH informed that the program formally launched today on 17th November 2020 at JW Marriott, Aerocity, New Delhi. During the launch of the above event, Rony Yedidia Clien ( Deputy Ambassador of Israel in India), Purshottam Bhaggeria ( Moldavian Counsel General in India), Ravi K Passi, Chairman-EPCH and Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Director General – EPCH, R.K. Verma, Executive Director – EPCH along with Sandeep Gupta, Owner, JW Marriott, Aerocity, New Delhi, Foundation’s President, Sameer Kaul, General Secretary, Mridul Arora, Manjit Singh, Senior Vice President,  Cycling Federation of India and Vicki Bedi (The Challenger)  pledged support to GRIT FOR LIFE, a unique fundraising endeavour of ‘bcpbf -The Cancer Foundation’ and launched the program. India TV has also pledged its support to one of India’s leading Cancer charity’s ‘bcpbf-The Cancer Foundation’, said Shri Ravi K. Passi, Chairman – EPCH.

Dr. Kumar further informed that this “Desert Cyclothon” shall see the challenger Vicki Bedi, an eminent Logistic Entrepreneur, cycle 2800 kms from Delhi on 18th November 2020 to various cities in 14 days (Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Ajmer, and Jaipur) in Rajasthan and back, in a bid to raise money for cancer management amongst economically deprived communities in India. This gruelling solo cyclothon, which will see Corporate Leaders cycle stretches with the challenger, also encompasses Cancer Detection Camps at EPCH’s artisans cluster in Barmer on 23-24th November 2020, Cancer Awareness Public Lecture at Jaisalmer (21.11.2020) and Jodhpur (27.11.2020), said Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Director General – EPCH.
