EPCH marks presence in Index Saudi Arabia in Riyadh
New Delhi – 10th September’2025 – “Index Saudi Arabia”, 2025 got underway at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and the EPCH India Pavilion was inaugurated by Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh in the august presence of Manusmriti, Counsellor (Economic & Commerce) Embassy of India, Riyadh, Akshay Singh, Deputy Director, O/o Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India; Salman Azam, Member CoA-EPCH; member exhibitors and Master Craft persons. The fair is being held from 09 – 11 September’ 2025. India has a great opportunity to display its unparalleled diversity, rich culture, and long tradition of arts and crafts on a large stage like Index Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia informed R. K. Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh while inaugurating appreciated the continuous efforts of the Council for bringing Indian Handicrafts to the world markets and promotion of handicrafts exports from the country. Ambassador also interacted with member participants and assured all support in future business promotions. His excellency was amazed to see the live demonstration by the master craft person.
Dr. Neeraj Khanna, Chairman-EPCH said that Index Saudi Arabia is the longest-running interiors event in the Middle East, trusted by companies and brands all over the world. The fair brings together the international design, home decor and lifestyle community under one roof. India’s participation will add to the fair’s vibrancy and diversity, as well as familiarise global manufacturers, retailers, and brands with the robust entrepreneurship in the Indian textiles, home furnishing, and consumer products industries, opening up opportunities for sourcing from India.
On the sidelines of Index Saudi Arabia 2025, EPCH In collaboration with the Embassy of India, Riyadh and the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) also organized an Interactive Session on the theme “India – The Ideal Destination for Handicrafts Sourcing” The Chief guest of the session was H.E. Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh along with Salman Azam , Member CoA, Akshay Singh, Deputy Director, O/o Development Commissioner (H) and Dalal Abudulelah Abuljadayel, Vice President, Vice President In Detail Design Center Jeddah. Salman Azam in his welcome address highlighted the importance of Saudi market in present business scenario. The session brought together global buyers, sourcing professionals and Indian handicraft exporters to explore opportunities, discuss market trends, and highlight India’s position as a trusted partner in the global handicrafts value chain. Senior dignitaries, trade experts and leading exhibitors deliberated on how India’s diverse product range, sustainable practices and artisanal excellence continue to make it one of the most attractive sourcing destinations worldwide Informed R. Verma further said in this edition, 6 member exporters are participating and displaying Home Décor, Gifts, Home Textiles, Kitchenware, Household Products Decorative etc. To promote Indian Handicrafts, EPCH has setup Thematic Display with live demonstration of Indian Traditional Crafts by Master Craftspersons / Artisans. The office of Development Commissioner [Handicrafts] has deputed Master Craftsmen of Natural Fibre Crafts from Odisha, Metal Engraving Craft from Uttar Pradesh, Terracotta Crafts from Delhi and Coconut Shell Crafts from Kerala.
