Start-up Meet held at Faridabad

The start-up initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started getting momentum. The industrial town of Faridabad also organised a start up and investors meet on Saturday. The meet was attended by more than 150 people that included participation by 40 startups. Out of these 15 were shortlisted to show their presentation to the renowned industry stalwarts of Faridabad. The industry jury included R.B.Madhekar, Suresh Manashramani, B.S. Galgat, Manish Puri, Tapesh Gupta, Praveen Mohanti, R.S. Agrawal, Aditya Purulia, Neel Ratan Mukherjee and C.B.Rawal. These industrialists watched through the presentations and also guided the startups for their projects. More than 50 investors attended the event finding the right project to invest in.

The startup projects mostly were based on soft skills added to the vision of the youth. While there was project made to provide employment opportunities to the youth, providing cost effective cab services and facility of comparing freight offers of different carriers for a single destination, all this at the comfort of using an application on the smart phone. One of the applications introduced by Mayank Chaudhary provided facility of interacting with other people on the globe virtually. The vision and energy of the youth was symbolic of their self confidence and strength to beat the global competition. This was actually a real show of what the policy of ‘Start-ups’, promoted by the prime minister is all about.

The start up and investors meet, organised by Start Up Setu, a platform of few like- minded young entrepreneurs including Advocate Piyush Singh, Ankit Agrawal, Rajesh Jain, Jayant Shekhawat, Varun Sarin and Sumant Shadilya.

Piyush Singh, an advocate by profession practicing at Delhi courts said, “As we heard the Prime Minister talking of Start-Up initiative, we felt that this is the right time for the youngsters dreaming big but not finding the right ground to stand strongly on. Hence, we came up with the concept of ‘Start-Up Setu’ the dictionary meaning of which itself says ‘bridge for start-ups’”.

Ankit Agrawal, talking to impressive times said, “The initiative of Start-Up and Digital India launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi would prove to be a boon for the youth who have vision to innovate new products and services that can be a turning point in the day to day life of the mankind, but have not means to make this vision a reality and also need some guidance of seasoned industrialists. It is just a start and we would continue to host such meets frequently and at different places of the country”.

While the program was organised by Start-up Setup, it was co hosted by Akarshan Furnitures, Sarin & Associates, and Nidhi Metals while the legal partners were PSP Legal.
