New Delhi (06/09/2019): A female ournalist was filmed at a lingerie store in Delhi’s Greater Kailash M-block market while the shopkeeper was allegedly watching footage from the hidden camera live!
While the incident took place on August 31, an FIR was registered 3 days after the incident at the Greater Kailash police station under IPC Section 354 C (voyeurism). But so far no action has been taken against the accused shopkeeper.
Although an FIR has been lodged in the case, police is yet to make any arrests and the accused shopkeeper continues to run free.
Police has said that the shopkeeper has footage of several other women in his database from the hidden camera. Further investigation in the incident is on.
This is not the first incident when a woman was filmed without her knowledge either through hidden camera or normal CCTV camera. In 2015, Union minister Smriti Irani spotted a hidden camera in the changing room of a Fabindia store in Goa.
This time it is in the heart of Delhi’s favourite GK M-block market. “After selecting the garments, I asked a female staffer to direct me to the trial room. On her directions, I went to a room and tried all the garments. Ten minutes later, the same woman came inside and asked me to go to another room as the room in which she was changing has a CCTV camera,” she said.
In a shocked state, the victim couldn’t understand how to deal with the situation at that time.
