Former CEO PC Gupta Interrogated by SSP Ajay Pal, Noida Police may demand 14 days custody for further investigation

After several days of hide and seek Greater Noida police finally arrested the former CEO of Yamuna Authority P C Gupta on Monday from Datia Madhya Pradesh . Gupta is accused of 126 crore land scam during his tenure in Yamuna Authority. He was arrested by the police last evening from outside Shri Pitambara Peeth in Datia. He was accompanied by his wife and his driver during time of arrest.

He was today brought to Kasna Police station, Greater Noida early in the morning. As per the police statement Gupta had left his house a day before police had registered FIR against him. Police had registered a FIR against him and 20 others allegedly involved in the scam. He had allegedly asked his relatives to acquire land from farmers at marginal rates and latter acquired these land as the CEO of YEDIA.

Since the FIR was registered against him to till now he kept on moving from place to place as to misguide the police and traveled to several states like Rajasthan, UP , Madhya Pradesh , Gujarat. He kept his phone switched off. Police however was continuously tracking his movements and had an eye over his relatives and through continuous surveillance he was trapped in Datia Madhya Pradesh.

Today SSP Ajay Pal Sharma interrogated former CEO for about an hour and it is now being said that he might have taken names of several high profile people.

Only the Tip of Iceberg Says YEIDA Chairman Dr. Prabhat Kumar

Yesterday while commenting on the arrest, Merrut Commissioner and Chairman of YEIDA Dr. Prabhat Kumar has said, “This is just the tip of ice berg. The corruption in YEIDA might be spread far and wide. I expect much more to come to light in coming times”.

As per reliable sources about 40 people including several IAS and PCS officers are on police radar after these revelations.
