Galgotias University Clinches Victory in Super Giants Cup Noida

The team representing Galgotias University won the “Super Giants Cup Noida Trophy,” held under the auspices of the Lucknow Super Giants IPL cricket team.

The two-day cricket tournament held at the LMC Academy in Greater Noida from March 2nd to 3rd, 2024, under the patronage of the Lucknow Super Giants IPL cricket team, was incredibly thrilling. In this two-day tournament, a total of 32 teams from various cities including Noida, Greater Noida, Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Bijnor, Hathras, Aligarh, Delhi NCR, Haryana, and Rajasthan participated. The final match between Galgotias University’s cricket team and “LSG Elite” cricket team was very exciting. The “LSG Elite” cricket team won the toss and chose to bat first, setting a target of 97 runs for their opponents, Galgotias University’s team.

Excellent performance was exhibited by both the teams making it a memorable and thrilling encounter. Aggressive batsman Ankit Tiwari smashed 7 sixes and scored a total of 46 runs off 13 balls in the final match. He earned the title of “Man of the Match” for his consistent performance throughout the tournament. Amidst a slight hiccup during the match, Captain Faisal exhibited his mature leadership by making timely decisions, leading his team to victory. Meanwhile, the duo of Piyush and Aman displayed their patience and skills, ensuring victory for Galgotias University’s team with three wickets to spare, despite the pressure of needing 30 runs off 18 balls.

Young players Lalit, Rohit, and Ankit Kumar also delivered splendid performances in their respective fields.

CEO, Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, congratulated the winning team and emphasized the importance of maintaining focus and playing with a spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie on the field. He stated that patience and courage are the traits that define true athletes. He wished the team success in the upcoming two-day cricket tournament in Lucknow on March 15th and 16th, 2024, urging them to continue bringing glory to their parents and their university through their hard work.

Sports officers Prashant Kumar, Yusuf Ahmed, and Bhupendra Singh also expressed their enthusiasm, emphasizing that continuous hard work is the key to success.
