Galgotias University gets 12B status, now eligible for financial aid from UGC

Greater Noida, 7th December: Galgotias University, Greater Noida has been included by University Grant Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) and has been declared fit to receive UGC grant as central assistance under Section 12 (B) of UGC Act, 1956 as per approved pattern of assistance under various schemes.

This is another major milestone for the University, which has seen steady progress since its establishment in 2011 and is now considered one among top private universities in the country.

Expressing delight over the UGC 12B status, CEO Dhruv Galgotia said that the status will enable us to increase facilities and further improve the quality of education.

“Now, Galgotias University will be benefited by various schemes run by the Union government and other central bodies for higher education and research work. After getting ‘12 B’ status, Galgotias University is eligible to get financial assistance from UGC for minor/major research projects, organizing seminars, posts of teachers under various schemes, scholarship for research scholars, construction of women hostels, new study centres and other student welfare schemes,” he added.

Galgotias College shines along

Recently, the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) accredited five more undergraduate engineering programs at the Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology. The College now offers 7 NBA accredited courses in total including Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.

Speaking on this achievement, Dean (Planning), Dr. Awadhesh Kumar said, “The NBA accreditation, for any engineering degree, demonstrates that the course meets all the standards of quality that are critical to a quality education system. The NBA accreditation to these seven degrees clearly demonstrates that Galgotias College is committed to excellence and quality education of the highest order.”

Galgotias University – Forerunner in the race of NEP implementation

Galgotias University aims to become the first educational institute in the country to fully implement NEP 2020 – an endeavor that has been well appreciated by Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal.

In February 2021, the University took an oath to fully implement the NEP, in the presence of Union Education Minister and many other academic stalwarts, and also shared a well framed roadmap consisting of 12 steps that will take the university closer to full NEP implementation. Read More.
