Greater Noida, 2nd Feb: Galgotias University organized a two-day national workshop on Mathematics and Statistics.

Padma Shri Dr. Dinesh Singh, the “Vice Chancellor” of the Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Council, attended the workshop as the chief guest.

The program commenced with Saraswati Vandana and the lighting of the lamp.

In his address, Dr. Dinesh Singh emphasized that there is no time limit to acquiring knowledge. If you are curious, you can learn new things every moment of your life and make new discoveries. Always remember that you are a student throughout your life, and a strong curiosity to do something new should persist within you.

Referring to the great scientist Newton, who came from a humble background and had a strong curiosity to discover new things, Dr. Dinesh Singh encouraged the audience to follow the footsteps of great scientists like Newton, C.V. Raman, and Albert Einstein, who had both, strong curiosity and desire to work themselves. He highlighted how their extraordinary achievements in making new discoveries contributed to establishing new records globally. He urged everyone to draw inspiration from the lives of these great scientists and strive to make India a leading nation once again through continuous efforts and overcoming struggles.

Dr. Narayan Kar, the respected guest from SLCSC (Delhi University), stated in his expression that studying various academic subjects is not the exclusive privilege of Westerners. He emphasized that our records of knowledge creation, research, and various accomplishments are highly commendable. The need of the hour is to revise our curriculum to explore excellence in the field of knowledge creation.

Dr. N.K. Taneja, the former Vice-Chancellor of Chaudhary Charan Singh University, expressed that we will be able to achieve the dual objectives of obtaining knowledge and welfare of humanity. Practical theoretical knowledge is vital in the applied world. The principles of our lives, such as “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah,” “Sarve Santu Niramayah,” and “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” provide important guidelines for resolving the most serious conflicts that arise.

Dr. K. Mallikharjun Babu, the Vice-Chancellor of Galgotias University, shed light on the significance of mathematics, stating that the foundation of all technological innovations and dimensions is mathematics. He urged everyone not to overlook this fact and emphasized the analytical, cooperative, sensitive, and contemplative nature of the Indian mind.

Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, the CEO of Galgotias University, extended best wishes to everyone for the success of the program and expressed gratitude for the unprecedented cooperation from Vidya Bharati Higher Education Institute.

The University’s Secretary, Nitin Gaur and the Dean of Student Welfare, Prof. A. K. Jain, thanked the chief guest and other dignitaries by presenting tokens of remembrance.
