Galgotias University Students Visit Dankaur Old Age Home to Support Elderly Residents
Greater Noida, 3rd July, 2024: Galgotias University Students on Wednesday visited Dankaur Old Age Home to Support Elderly Residents.
On this occasion, the Chancellor of Galgotias University, Mr. Sunil Galgotia, quoted a famous Quote in Sanskrit
“अभिवादनशीलस्य, नित्यं वृद्धोपसेविनः।
चत्वारि तस्य वर्धन्ते, आयुर्विद्या यशो बलम्”
“Abhivādana shīlasya, nityaṃ vr̥ddho pasevinaḥ।
Chatvari tasya vardhante, āyurvidyā yasho balam।”
This means that those who are polite and humble, who respect and serve their elders, see an increase in their lifespan, knowledge, fame, and strength. They always move towards progress in their lives.
He further stated that Galgotias University is committed to the holistic development of its students by honouring great philosophies and adopting traditions of our nation’s great culture.
In line with these noble thoughts, students including international students of Sociology Departments of Galgotias University made an educational visit to the “Old Age Home” in Dankaur town, Gautam Buddha Nagar district, to serve the elderly. The students distributed fruits, cut a cake together and provided essentials as gifts and received blessings in reciprocation.
During a series of cultural programs, students performed various songs, and the elderly contributed through their soulful folk songs filled with compassion and love, creating an emotional atmosphere. After spending the entire day, the students returned to the university with the elders’ blessings.
Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO of Galgotias University, praised the students’ efforts, stating that caring for elderly members reflects our social values and humanity. Galgotias University teaches its students to be sensitive towards the elderly. By organizing such important programs, our university will continue to inspire its students to engage in noble deeds so that our country’s youth (our students) become sensitive and kind-hearted individuals.
