Gautam Buddha Nagar tightens grip of Auto’s, reinforced measures introduced to ensure security of riders

Considering the increasing instances of Auto gang being involved in loot and molestation of female passengers, Police is now planning to tighten it’s vigil on such elements. For this Greater Noida police will now conduct a renewed auto verification drive in three phases.

For this SSP Gautam Budh Nagar has ordered all the auto drivers to submit their name, address, auto number, phone number and their identity proof. This is being done so that they had a sense of fear in themselves before committing a crime that they will be  nabbed.

It has also been decided that Auto’s commuting from outside the district will be restricted by the traffic police and transport department. In the third phase verification of all the auto drivers will be done and a specific code number will be allotted to every one. For now district has 19200 autos over which for Noida and Greater Noida there will be different codes.

In this same regard today members of Active Citizen Team also proposed to assist the police during the drive and met with SSP. They also discussed as to how the plan will be executed. ACT members informed that for verification and code allotment a camp will be setup in Greater Noida near Ansal Plaza mall.

After the allotment of these codes it will be easy for the commuters to identify the auto if they had any issue with them. It was also decided that Auto will also have the details of the driver pasted inside every vehicle.
