One of the most popular events involving exchange of Ideas and thoughts all across the world, TEDx is soon going to take place in Greater Noida’s Shiv Nadar University.
In its second year, TEDxShivNadarUniversity is going to bring together the experiences and the ideas of members of our local committee coming from various walks of life. The event is going to take place on 12th of November this year at Shiv Nadar University, Greater Noida.
What exactly are TED and TEDx?
TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, and Design. TED is an annual event where some of the world’s leading thinkers and doers are invited to share what they are most passionate about.
TEDx carries the ideology of TED forward. TEDx events are organized by volunteers from the local community, free of any commercial, religious or political agenda. TEDx, created in 2009, empowers independent organizers to bring a TED-like experience under a free license granted by TED.

Students of Shiv Nadar University will be organizing this grand event in the first quarter of November to promote “ideas worth spreading”.
SIMPLY inspirational – that was how the the first event of TEDx at Shiv Nadar University was hailed, which was held in 2016. The event hosted visionaries from various domains and fields, and had speakers such as Pernia Qureshi (fashion entrepreneur), Laura Quinn (entrepreneur), Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanaraman (chief scientist, IBM), Dr. Isher Alhuwalia (economist), Karan Singh (magician), Jagdeep Chokkar (social activist) and many more who fostered the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation in students and at the same time inspired the audience.
Carrying the momentum forward, TEDxShivNadarUniversity is back to enlighten with talks of eminent speakers from various domains including CTO of a multinational company to a corporate storyteller who has a start-up of her own, from an MNC consultant to a sex educator trying to voice her opinion, from a producer-DJ with abnormal, ambient sounds to an advocate of human rights, this year’s event has lots to enthrall and excite its audience. Just like the previous edition, this year also there is no particular theme.
The speakers’ lineup includes Amitabh Mall, Partner and Director at Boston Consulting Group, Reecha Upadhyay, advocate of human rights, Kumail Hamid, 22-year old music producer from Mumbai, Abhineet Sonkar, Head at Design & Thinking Team at HCL, and many more noted luminaries of their respective fields.
The TEDx Club at Shiv Nadar University
At Shiv Nadar University, Greater Noida the TEDx is organized by an independent student club with support of college administration. The core team includes Anant Garg, Mayank Gupta, Rishabh Bhandari, Simran Agarwal, Bhavya Gupta, Nishta Nayar, Parth Ahuja, Ritwik Kumar, Bhavya Aggarwal, Manvi Mehra, Kartikey Sahu, Yash Agarwal, Vainee Bhatyal, Manas Johri, Vainee Bhatyal, Inaayat Sachdev, Pratiksha Sharma and Sarvam Goel.
