GIMS Greater Noida Marks 11 Years of Excellence with Grand Foundation Day Celebrations

Greater Noida News (15/02/2026): The Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, commemorated its Eleventh Foundation Day on Sunday with a dignified and vibrant ceremony, celebrating over a decade of achievements in medical education, research, and patient care. The event brought together distinguished guests, senior academicians, faculty members, students, and staff, reflecting the institute’s growing stature in the healthcare sector.

The foundation day was graced by the Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Medical Education, Government of Uttar Pradesh, who attended the programme as Chief Guest through video conferencing. Several eminent personalities associated with medical education and healthcare administration were present on the dais. Among them were Guest of Honour A. K. Singh, Director, PGICH, and special guests D. K. Singh, Dean, PGICH Noida; Ajay Kumar Pandey, DIG, Gautam Buddha Nagar Headquarters; and Sanjay Mishra, Principal, ASMC Bulandshahr. The dignitaries lauded the institute for its consistent progress and expanding role in strengthening the state’s healthcare system.

The programme began with the formal welcome of the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. The Dean, Rambha Pathak, delivered the welcome address and presented the Annual College Report. In her address, she outlined the institute’s major accomplishments over the past year, highlighting advancements in academics, research output, patient care services, infrastructure expansion, and community outreach initiatives. She emphasized the institution’s steady growth and its unwavering commitment to excellence in medical education and quality healthcare delivery.

Addressing the gathering, the Director, (Brig) Rakesh Gupta, reflected on GIMS’s journey since its inception. He underlined the pivotal role of discipline, integrity, and innovation in building a strong and credible medical institution. Acknowledging the collective efforts of faculty members, resident doctors, students, nursing personnel, and administrative teams, he stated that their dedication had transformed GIMS into a rapidly advancing hub of learning and patient care. He also reiterated the institute’s future vision, which includes strengthening super-specialty services, promoting research initiatives, and achieving higher standards of academic excellence.

In his address, the Chief Guest praised GIMS Greater Noida for its significant contribution to enhancing medical education and healthcare services across Uttar Pradesh. He appreciated the commitment of the faculty, the accomplishments of the students, and the institution’s continued focus on quality improvement and innovation.

A key highlight of the celebration was the felicitation ceremony, during which faculty members were honoured for outstanding contributions. Teaching excellence was recognised with an award to Sonu, while Payal Jain was honoured for clinical acumen and Ritu Sharma for contributions to research. The Department of Anesthesiology received the Best Department Award. Appreciation awards for notable contributions to the growth of GIMS were presented to Samiksha Khanuja, Atul Kumar Gupta, Jaya Bharti, and other faculty members.

Meritorious students were also felicitated for their exceptional academic performance and achievements, adding a celebratory note to the occasion. The Eleventh Foundation Day concluded with a sense of pride and renewed resolve, reaffirming GIMS Greater Noida’s commitment to emerging as a leading center of excellence in medical education, research, and patient care in the years ahead.
