GIMS Partners with MGUG and MPIT to Expand AI Startup Clinic and Boost Healthcare Innovation in Purvanchal

Greater Noida News (14/03/2026): In a significant step toward strengthening technology-driven healthcare innovation, the Centre for Medical Innovation – GIMS Foundation at the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, has entered into a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mahayogi Gorakhnath University (MGUG), Gorakhpur, and the Centres of Excellence at Maharana Pratap Institute of Technology (MPIT). The collaboration aims to promote artificial intelligence-based healthcare solutions and support startup development in the Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh.
The MoU was formally signed at Mahayogi Gorakhnath University in Gorakhpur in the presence of several key academic and institutional leaders. Among those present were Dr. Surendra Singh, Vice Chancellor of MGUG; Dr. Pradeep Kumar Rao, Registrar of MGUG; Dr. Sudhir Agarwal, Director of MPIT; and Dr. Rahul, Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for Medical Innovation – GIMS Foundation.
Under this strategic collaboration, the GIMS AI Startup Clinic initiative will extend its operations to Gorakhpur, creating new opportunities for AI startups, clinicians, researchers, and technology innovators to collaborate on developing solutions for pressing healthcare challenges. The initiative is designed to encourage the development of innovative health technologies that can improve patient care and make healthcare services more efficient and accessible.
The partnership brings together the clinical expertise of GIMS, the academic strength and research environment of MGUG, and the advanced technological infrastructure available at MPIT’s Centres of Excellence. A key component of the initiative will be the use of high-performance NVIDIA GPU-powered artificial intelligence infrastructure at the MPIT Centre of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence. This advanced setup will support the training, testing, and deployment of sophisticated AI models for healthcare applications.
Highlighting the importance of the collaboration, the Director of GIMS, Brig (Dr.) Rakesh Gupta, stated that the partnership represents a major step toward integrating medicine, technology, and innovation to address real-world healthcare challenges. He emphasized that the GIMS AI Startup Clinic aims to empower innovators and startups by providing them with the resources and collaborative ecosystem needed to develop impactful healthcare solutions.
The initiative is also expected to promote startup incubation programs, joint research projects, technology development, student-led innovation initiatives, and hackathons. By encouraging collaboration between medical professionals, academic institutions, and technology experts, the program seeks to build a strong, technology-driven healthcare innovation ecosystem in Purvanchal.
Experts believe that this collaboration will not only foster innovation but also help translate cutting-edge research into practical healthcare technologies that can benefit communities across eastern Uttar Pradesh.
