With the Bharat Bandh call from farmers getting varied response in different parts of the country, noted academicians and thought leaders of Greater Noida have come forward to express their views on the ongoing stir.
While everyone unanimously believes that any issue of contention must be resolved by the government, there is also equal emphasis on such agitations not becoming a reason for public inconvenience.
“In a society everyone has some expectations from each other. Our Government is of the people, by the people and for the people. People of the country become government on being elected by people, to serve people. So people and their problems should be considered by the government and solve the problems. But due to the problem of one sect of people, ( Farmers), other’s life cannot be put at stake”, points Aditi Basu Roy, Principal of Grads International school.
Recalling her personal experience from last few days, she adds, “The traffic at all Delhi borders are closed and are in jeopardy which are important corridors for office goers, businessmen, doctor-patients and interstate Goods services. Moreover one day bandh has a huge loss to National GDP. So who is winning over what?”
“I don’t support any mayhem, whether be the reason. We have a respected democracy, we can talk and debate on this to come to a common solution,” Basu concludes.
Echoing similar sentiments, Rajni Rao from Adiraj Public school, says, “Government should try to resolve this issue at the earliest. Also protestors, be it from any segment must understand that their way of agitation shouldn’t become a reason of inconvenience for others”.
