New Delhi (09/02/2022): The Ministry of Education (MoE) is implementing various scholarship schemes for eligible students, including students from the backward and minority communities in the form of scholarships, maintenance allowances, payment/ reimbursement of tuition fee, hostel expenses, etc. Expenditure incurred by the MoE in this regard for the students from the backward and minority communities in the last five years (2016-17 to 2020-21) were Rs. 404.92, Rs. 580.59, Rs. 681.26, Rs. 782.69 & Rs. 747.80 crore respectively.
The information was given by the Minister of State for Education, Dr. Subhas Sarkar in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.
