Greater Noida Extension: Home buyers protest against the delay in construction!

The buyers of flats in Greater Noida West located ‘La Residentia’ housing society held a sit-in protest on Sunday against the delay in construction and possession of the flats.

The home buyers alleged that the construction has been at a halt since the last two years. The home-owners in past had repeated meetings with the management in which they assured them of resuming the construction as soon as possible. However the construction progress did not move ahead as promised.

Home owners informed that they held a similar protest on September 9th during which the builder had asked for time till September 30th to resume the construction activity. The home owners further alleged that the construction did not start even after the lapse of the given time period.

Would-be-residents of La Residentia also said that they had booked the flats in 2010. The project comprises of 39 residents towers out of which 18 are reportedly ready and have some occupants as well.

The residents handed over a letter to the builder and the management alleging that even in the completed towers there are flats which are still not been allotted. The residents have further demanded that the rent as per prevailing rates in the market, be paid to them till they get possession of their flats.

Builder accused of harassing the protesters

The verbal altercation between the protesters and the management allegedly turned violent and some buyers accused builder of deploying bouncers to beat up the protesters.

Following which, angry protesters also protested outside the Bisrakh Police Station demanding immediate registration of an FIR against the builder and the bouncers. Police assured them of an investigation and subsequent action in the matter.

The protesters further alleged that the said bouncers not only thrashed them but some workers from the housing society management also misbehaved with female protesters.
