Noida, 24th August, 2022: Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) conducted an anti-encroachment drive Monday, razing illegal projects on approximately 6% of plots in the Birondi village, as per officials.
According to officials, these plots in the hamlet belonging to various farmers had unlawful dwellings and buildings constructed by colonizers in the area, with the cost estimated to be approximately Rs 2 crore.
Officials said that the destruction was carried out on the orders of the GNIDA’s chief executive officer, Surendra Singh, as part of ongoing measures against land grabbers who build unauthorized constructions in areas designated by the authority.
“Illegal constructions, including boundary walls, were built on the purchased land in Birondi village’s Khasra No. 386 and 387,” said K R Verma, general manager (project).
On Monday, a crew from work circle-5, led by manager Vijay Kumar Bajpai and assistant manager Manoj Kumar, visited the site. An anti-encroachment campaign was carried out utilising JCB and dumper trucks, removing illegal slums and boundary walls built on roughly 1,000 square metres of land in the community and eventually evacuating them.”
According to Verma, anti-encroachment campaigns will be carried out on a regular basis to eradicate illegal encroachment. According to officials, the GNIDA has issued directives to all work circle officers in this respect, and strict measures will be taken against any government land grabbers.
