Greater Noida Kidnapping case: Family driver hatched conspiracy, victim’s aunt gave leads

Greater Noida, 6th October, 2022: Four guys kidnapped 11-year-old Harsh Singh from Luksar village on October 2 (Sunday) and allegedly sought a ransom of Rs 30 lakh from the child’s father.
After a shootout wherein the two suspects were shot, police were able to apprehend two of the suspects, Vishal Maurya and Rishabh, on Monday morning. Later that day, police shot and killed the main suspect, Shivam. According to authorities, another suspect, Vishal Pal, is still on the run.
According to police, a lady from Greater Noida’s Luksar region was also detained on Tuesday in connection with the kidnapping of that minor this week.
She allegedly provided essential information about the child and his family’s whereabouts to the kidnappers and assisted them in kidnapping the boy. Even after the boy was gone, she continued to keep an eye on the family.
Greater Noida DCP, Abhishek Verma stated, “During the investigation, we determined that Shivam’s female companion Reenu was also a part of the gang who provided information about the youngster and his family’s daily routine. Reenu is the victim’s sister, and they both live in the same neighbourhood.”
“During interrogation, she revealed that she was also keeping tabs on the family in the aftermath of the kidnapping, she was apprehended late Tuesday from her apartment in Luksar by a team from Ecotech-1 police station,” he added.
Shivam, according to police, was the brain behind the entire abduction. He devised the plan around a week ago and had been working as a driver for the child’s father, Megh Singh, for the last 1.5 months.
