Greater Noida Medical College allotted 100 seats, yet to get nod from MCI

Greater Noida (29/10/18) : It’s been months since the Uttar Pradesh Government had allotted 100 MBBS seats in Government Institute of Medical Sciences in Greater Noida. After which speculations were high that sooner the classes will get started. But however classes are yet to start as medical college has not got recognition from the MCI.
For now OPD has become almost fully operational and around 1000 to 1500 patients are getting benefited on daily basis. Apart from OPD emergency departments is also functioning on 24×7 basis. There are total of 18 departments in the medical college including academic and non academic department. OPD timings are 8:30 in morning to 4:30 in evening, patients had to take a token of 1 rupee while the test are done on very nominal charges.
Non academic that has 11 departments such as Gynaecology, Pathology, biochemistry and microbiology. Ophthalmology, gynecology , surgery, ENT, orthopaedics, medicine and pediatrics are admitting patients. While the rest of 7 academic departments will become functional as academic session will start.
The hospital was envisaged with 150 ICU beds, 300 doctors, 250 nurses, 450 pharmacists and about 1,000 faculty members. One of the official told that administration is working hard for making the college equipped with all the required infrastructure so that college can get approval from MCI as soon as possible.
