A day after a 27-year-old engineer was shot dead in a Greater Noida restaurant, police failed to make an arrest despite indentifying the prime accused. One person, who the police believe is close to the suspect, has been detained.

Vivek Sharma, a resident of Sector P-4 in Greater Noida, had gone to the Yellow Chilli restaurant at Jagat Farm in Sector Gamma-I with his father and brother-in-law on Saturday night. While paying the bill, he had an argument with another customer waiting at the counter. The argument turned ugly and the man with whom Sharma had the tiff left. However, he returned a short while later and shot Sharma in the chest.
