#HC rejects pleas against 10% EWS quota in private shcools
GURGAON: The Punjab and Haryana high court has asked all private schools to stick to Haryana SCHOOL EDUCATION
norms that mandate 10% seats be reserved for the economically weaker section (EWS). A division bench, headed by Justice SK Mittal, gave the order while dismissing all the three petitions that had challenged the legitimacy of Provision 134A of the Haryana School Education Rules, which allows for reservation of 10% seats for EWS students in all grades from class I to XII in all private unaided schools. “It was held that it was their bounden duty to ensure that there is no breach of the rules which have statutory force and if they are violated they will have to blame themselves for it,” the court said.
