Haryana presents colourful dances in IITF 2013
Haryana artists presented a colourful cultural programme on Haryana State Day
on 17th
November in the currently going, India International Trade Fair, IITF -2013 at
Lal Chowk Theatre in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder
Singh Hooda inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.
The artists presented folk dances and folk songs of Haryana in the cultural
evening programme. The folk artists of Information, Public Relations and Cultural
Affairs Department, Haryana and students of different schools and colleges
presented folk dances, folk songs and raginis, relating to various aspects of the life of
the people of Haryana.
The well known folk artist of Haryana Mr Mahavir Guddu and his team
presented the folk song along with the dance – Bharat Mein Haryana, Jit Doodh Dahi
ka khana. He also presented tit-bits in Haryanvi language and was applauded by the
audience. The parties of Sangita Jangda and Poonam presented raginis.
Deepak Dance by Pandit Rajendra Prasad was the hit of the evening. Carrying
two plates with diyas in his hands, the artist displayed a number of feats, ensuing that
the flames of the diyas remain intact.
The dignitaries present on this occasion included Principal Resident
Commissioner of Haryana Mr P.K. Mahapatra, Administrator of Haryana Trade Fair
Authority Mr Anand Mohan Sharan, DG of Information, Public Relations and Cultural
Affairs Department, Haryana Mr Sudhir Rajpal, MD of HSIIDC Mr Tarun Bajaj, Media
Advisor to the Chief Minister, Mr Shiv Bhatia and a number of other officers. The
Google Boy Kautilya was also present and was the centre of attraction of the jam
packed theatre.
